WThis is a simplified interpretation of a cocktail from a new cocktail list. This is a batch prepared mix that is loaded full of essence associated with festive period, making it excellent for your celebration. Reserve the remaining cordial for morning drinks, sweets, or to make more rounds of this cocktail.
The Bikini Cocktail
Makes enough for 10 servings
Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (yields 750ml)
300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
For the Drink (produces 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (from the recipe above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Directions
To prepare the Cordial: Put the listed components in a pot, heat until it reaches a simmer, mixing to dissolve. After that, take off the stove and leave to cool down entirely. Pour into a clean bottle, seal and store chilled, it can be stored for around one month.
Preparing the Premix: Pour the specified spirits and syrup in a large bottle, let it rest for 60 minutes, then strain , ideally through cheesecloth, so it's completely strained.
When ready to serve: Pour 85ml from the premix to a mixing glass containing ice, and agitate gently for about 60 seconds to chill. Pour into a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, decorate with a few cranberries and complete it using a quick spritz of the essential oil above the glass.
