Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
