I will dominate 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
